SITUATION STATION - CHRISTINA COURTIN WITH THE KNIGHTS

UPCOMING RELEASE ON IN A CIRCLE RECORDS | OFFICIAL RELEASE DATE: JANUARY 31, 2020

Christina Courtin’s Situation Station, recorded four years after the release of Varsity, can best be described as a tapestry of her musical and life experiences. As she weaves together her dual worlds, the singer-songwriter and classically trained violinist guide listeners through somber plains and heartbreak, all the while surrounding them with warmth, joy, and hope. With its stark vocals and rich arrangements, Situation Station seeks to stir the same depth of emotion in others that Courtin has imbued in each of her album’s songs.

INNER RHYME - LAYALE CHAKER & SARAFAND

OUT NOW ON A CIRCLE RECORDS | official release date : january 18th, 2019

"Inner Rhyme deftly fuses multiple idioms into an indissoluble whole. Certainly the Arabic melodies exemplify the Eastern dimension, whereas the presence of acoustic piano adds a Western character, and the rhythms swing in ways that suggest a wedding of both. That Chaker dedicated many an hour listening to voice material is evidenced by the powerful vocal-like quality of the playing, [...]  both serpentine and conversational. More than anything else, it's the counterpoint so marvelously exemplified by the playing that makes the performances on Chaker's debut so compelling.
